Suggest levels of usage:

Sodium Hyaluronate 3000 Dalton Powder is a low-molecular hyaluronic acid powder designed for deep penetration with enhanced bioavailability. Sodium Hyaluronate 3000 Dalton Powder is made through the fermentation process of sodium salts. The powder is 95% or more sodium hyaluronate.
Daltons is a molecular weight measurement. 3000 Daltons indicates that it is lower molecular weight. The lower the molecular weight, the deeper penetration the product reaches and the more easily it penetrates. This makes Sodium Hyaluronate 3000 Daltons an excellent addition to any products designed to increase moisture retention on the skin.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring polysaccharide found in joints, skin and connective tissue. It is a powerful emollient, creating intense hydration and lubrication. Hyaluronic Acid can be used in topical skincare and hair care applications.
Hyaluronic Acid is one of the most beneficial skincare ingredients for all skin types. We offer three versions here at Shay:
Hyaluronic Acid 3000K powder- high molecular weight hyaluronic acid, used for surface hydration and creating a protective skin barrier. This specific version will create less viscous finished materials, so keep that in mind when targeting a specific finished viscosity for your products. This makes it excellent for lighter-weight finished products, where you want increased moisture retention without the heavy application.
The primary benefit of 3000 Daltons versus 120W is the increased depth at which 3000 Daltons can penetrate. This increases the moisture retention inside the cells, and the ability to pull more hydration from the atmosphere. HA 3000 Daltons is excellent for this, but you do ideally want to pair it with another higher molecular weight so you have some on the surface pulling in moisture, and some penetrating in delivering hydration.
Hyaluronic Acid 120,000K powder– low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, ideal for deep skin penetration and enhanced bioavailability
Sodium Hyaluronate 7 Solution– a specialized liquid solution designed to work both at the surface level and deeper into the skin cells.
When creating hyaluronic acid products, we do suggest using more than one HA ingredient. This allows both surface retention and deep cellular work. If you only want to use one ingredient, we do then suggest the Sodium Hyaluronate 7 Solution as it covers multiple weights.

How to use:
Sodium Hyaluronate 3000 Daltons Powder is completely water soluble and must be added in the water phase of your formula.
Best dissolved in room temperature water (below 50°C/122°F) to avoid degradation
Ideal finished product pH range is 4.5-5.5. Adjust using lactic acid or citric acid.
Blends well with glycerin, olive oil squalane, dl-panthenol to boost hydration properties.
Water based formulas:
- Dissolve Sodium Hyaluronate 3000 Daltons into warm water, or any water-based base (such as our Aloe Gel or glycerin). You can also use any of our organic hydrosols at this point.
- Stir gently to allow full hydration. This product will need to sit for a few minutes to completely saturate. Allow 10-15 minutes for this step.
- Stir gently.
- Add glycerin or other water-based humectants and mix until uniform
- Add other skin-enhancing ingredients such as Niacinamide, Olive Oil Squalane, dl-Panthenol.
- If using a thickener, disperse into the glycerin of formula before adding to water to easily dissolve.
- Add preservative and adjust pH if necessary
Oil Based/Emulsified formulas:
- Dissolve Sodium Hyaluronate 3000 Daltons Powder into water. You can also use any of our organic hydrosols at this point. This powder does take longer to saturate, so please allow 10-15 minutes for it to become completely dissolved in the water.
- Add in oil based ingredients. Oils like organic jojoba oil or Oregon grown Hazelnut oil are great to increase hydration without occluding the skin.
- Add other skin-enhancing ingredients such as Niacinamide, Olive Oil Squalane, dl-Panthenol.
- Incorporate emulsifiers such as emulsifying wax, laurel wax, jojoba esters, cetyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate se, stearic acid, etc. Mix thoroughly,
- Add preservative and follow heat regulations for the specific preservative used
- Adjust pH if necessary.
Sodium Hyaluronate 3000 Daltons Powder is temperature sensitive so always mix at or below 50°C/122°F.
Avoid using with high-level acids such as AHA/BHA’s.
Sodium Hyaluronate 3000 Daltons Powder is sold in ¼-pound bio-degradable bags, 1-pound bio-degradable bags, 5-pound BPA-free buckets, 25-pound #4 recyclable bags, and 44-pound #4 recyclable bags.
Short Term Storage: Air tight container. Dark location. Cool room temperature.
Long Term Storage: Removing air from storage container will delay oxidation and rancidity (may need to place in a smaller container). Refrigeration can extend shelf life.
