Rose is one of my all-time favorite skincare products. We carry rose absolute and organic rosehip seed oil because rose is so powerful! Please welcome dried rose petals.
These petals are beautiful, small, dried pink and red petals with a little green mixed in. They are cut and cleaned so they are ready for your formulas.
You can use dried rose petals as is for a potpourri (remember when those were so popular?) Just take your dried flowers (rose petals, chamomile flowers, calendula flowers, lavender buds) and use a broad sprayer to spritz them with your essential oil or fragrance blend. You don’t need much. Just broadly spray them, then gently mix. Keep repeating this process until you obtain the smell you’re looking for. Another way to do this is to blend them with salts, like Epsom Salt. You would scent the salt, then add the flower petals to the salts. The salts will retain the smell and the flowers will add the beauty.
This is the same process you would use to make a dry bath mix. Take your blend of salts (Epsom salts, pink Himalayan salts, dead sea salts, whatever blend you like), then add your fragrance or essential oil to those salts. Salts take way less to scent than liquid body products so start at about ½ tsp per pound of dry salt. You’ll want to add the scent to the dry salts and then mix really well. You need to incorporate the scent across all the salt crystals. Then smell it to see if it is strong enough. Make sure to walk away for a second as your nose will adjust and you don’t want to overpower your bath salts. Once you have the scent load you like, add in your other goodies like Sodium Bicarbonate, Pure Magnesium Flakes, Citric Acid and any/all of the dried herbs. This can make a fabulous bath tea!
Facial steaming products are becoming very popular and these dried Red Rose Petals would make a great facial steamer. If you haven’t seen them, facial steaming products are dried ingredients that a customer sprinkles into hot, steamy water in a bowl. Then they place their face directly over the bowl and allow their skin and face to absorb the fragrant steam. Oftentimes it is recommended to put a towel draped over the back of the head to keep the steam from escaping. Adding ingredients such as Organic Arnica, Organic Calendula, Organic Lavender Buds, Organic Comfrey, and Organic Aloe would make a powerful herbal blend. Other ingredients that are great to add are fresh lemons, some salt such as our Fine Dead Sea Salt, Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate), Citric Acid, then essential oils with facial care properties such as Frankincense Carterii, Helichrysum, Egyptian Geranium, Organic Lavender, Roman Chamomile, Clary Sage, Holy Basil, Manuka….you get the idea. If you’re creating a dry facial steam product, you will add your liquid products (essential oils, carrier oils) to the salts, then add the pre-scented salts to your other dry ingredients. Don’t try to scent the dried herbs; those smell lovely just on their own.
You can also use Rose Petals to create your own tinctures. Tinctures can be made using a variety of bases, such as organic witch hazel, glycerin or an organic carrier oil.
Dried Rose Petals are sold in ½-pound biodegradable bags, 1-pound biodegradable bags, 5-pound biodegradable bags, 25-pound, and 50-pound sizes. Any orders larger than 500-pounds please email us for pricing.
