Shay and Company is proud to present a small selection of clean and non-toxic fragrances for soap, candles and skincare. All our fragrances are suitable for natural skincare products, cold process soap making, bath bombs, tarts, body care products, and candle making. We understand the value of having non-toxic fragrance options other than essential oils, so we have worked hard to create a line of high-quality, cleanly-made, natural fragrances for candles, soaps, and other products for our customers.
Please see our Ethical Fragrance Page for more information about our clean beauty fragrance standards.
Note on fragrance names- There is no regulation on fragrance names with the FDA, and fragrance names do not represent any specific ingredient like essential oils do. You can call any fragrance whatever name you want to call it, so get imaginative with your fragrance names!
I’m all about sage so sagebrush was a no brainer! Love this clean, herbal, fresh aroma. Light and clean with a nice burst of fresh lavender followed by green sage notes. Not too strong, just a lovely clean smell.

In brief: scent fades down to a tolerable level in Cp soap after a few weeks. A bit strong on the lavender after cure. Still a nice scent.
Our customers have been asking for more natural scented soaps. Being from Montana, Sagebrush is everywhere and creating a soap scented like it was a no-brainer.
When you open the bottle and work with this, this has a very, very strong nose. Like open-the-windows kinda strong. But it behaves well in CP. I typically CPOP my cold process soaps and that seems to have not been the best idea with this fragrance as I got a touch of a glycerin swirl.
After a few weeks, the scent has actually faded a lot off the curing soap. Probably by 75%. I went for a medium scent. I grabbed an off cut and tested it out under warm water. The scent comes back but is never too strong. I think this will be a hit at the markets when it’s done curing.
