Lemon essential oil is probably one of the most recognized smells. Bright, fragrant, citrus, lemon essential oil makes a great addition to everything from your household cleaners to body wash, scrub, and face products.

In 2017 a study was done to show the effectiveness of lemon essential oil again bacteria growing in ground beef. The study showed that topical application of 100% pure lemon essential oil was effective at inhibiting the growth of bacteria in the meat. This means all those lemon-based cleansers have a boosted anti-bacterial component when they incorporate lemon essential oils. Keep in mind that synthetic lemon fragrance will not work the same.
