Geranium Essential Oil not only contributes a lovely aroma to your products, but it also has many skincare benefits. Geranium essential oil is also sometimes referred to as “True Rose” or “Rose Geranium” essential oils. Geranium essential oil is derived from the flower petals and green leaves of the evergreen rose geranium shrub.
Geranium essential oil when used in skincare can help reduce redness, inflammation and acne spots, plus it helps brighten the skin giving a glowing complexion and helps to hydrate the skin. Geranium Essential oil is also said to be effective in soothing eczema.
Geranium Essential oil works wonders on dark spots and dull skin. You can use this as a single essential oil blended into carrier oils to target dark spots. Try blending it with Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil and Oregon Hazelnut. Organic Sea Buckthorn oil is one of the highest natural sources of Vitamin C and that will boost the brightening effects of geranium essential oil.
Geranium Essential oil has been used to help combat acne, both by reducing sebum production and by reducing breakouts on the skin. Geranium has high levels of natural antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, which can help reduce breakouts. This also proves beneficial when creating formulas targeting dermatitis. Melissa essential oil is another one that has high levels of antibacterial properties, and these two blend well together. This same antibacterial effect makes Geranium Essential oil great in natural deodorants. Make sure to check out our Magnesium Hydroxide Powder when you start to create your natural deodorant.
One newly discovered benefit of Geranium Essential oil is its skill in reducing swelling, such as edema. This makes Geranium Essential oil and prime ingredient for your bath bombs and bath soaks. Make sure to include the pure Magnesium Flakes in your finished formulas as this will boost the effectiveness of the Geranium Essential Oil.
The aromatherapy benefit of Geranium Essential oil is a lovely reduction in stress, so those bath soaks and bath bombs just got even more effective! Geranium Essential oil would also be great in a diffuser blend or in those lovely shower steamers (I do love shower steamers).
Looking to boost your hair care line? Make sure to include Geranium Essential oil. When used in hair care (shampoo, conditioner, masks, oil treatments, scalp scrubs, you name it…) geranium helps to control sebum production and nourish the scalp. Healthier scalps grow healthier hair. Make sure check out our specialty hair ingredients like Organic Amla Oil and our shampoo and conditioner melt and pour products.
Egyptian Geranium Essential Oil blends well with cypress, ginger, bergamot, roman chamomile, rose, juniper, lemon, palmarosa, neroli, pink grapefruit, sandalwood, ylang, yuzu, and peppermint.
