Despite its name, cetyl stearyl alcohol is not drying to the skin like typical alcohols. Instead, it boasts excellent emollient and conditioning properties.

Cetyl Alcohol is a single compound, consisting mostly of C16 Palmitic Fatty Acid. Palmitic Acid has high moisturizing properties when applied to the skin by helping to lock in moisture.
