Stearyl Palmitate is an excellent ingredient to manage final formula viscosity, skin-feel and stability in various temperatures. Stearyl Palmitate is derived from RSPO palm oil and stearyl alcohol. Stearyl Palmitate and Lauryl Laurate function similarly, but Lauryl Laurate has a much lower melting point, making a softer finished product.
Stearyl Palmitate is used in skin care, hair care, cosmetics and soap making.
Stearyl Palmitate is easy to use with a low melting point, making it ideal to blend with natural plant based butters and oils.
What are the benefits of Stearyl Palmitate?
Binder- used to help emulsify water and oils in lotions, creams, hair care and cosmetics
Emulsion Stabilizer- helps to prevent viscosity changes when temperature changes
Hair Conditioner- works as a humectant to help soften and sooth hair follicles
Emollient- stearyl palmitate helps to sooth and soften the skin
Whitening agent- increases whiteness
Skin Conditioner- works to increase moisture on the skin and prevent water loss. Has a lovely skin-feel, similar to silicones.
Viscosity Booster- easy to use plant based thickener with ideal low melt point
