Petitgrain Essential Oil is in the neroli family of aroma, having an orange and woody blend. Petitgrain is an excellent oil to use in scent blends, creating a neroli-type aroma at a much smaller price. Petitgrain is often used in products designed to help reduce insomnia and create a more relaxed environment.

Petitgrain Essential Oil is one that isn’t often used on its own but is very often found in high-end perfume blends. This oil helps enhance the aroma effects of neroli, extending the citrus notes while decreasing the overall price. Petitgrain can be used on its own, and it blends very well with other essential oils.

Petitgrain is said to help to balance sebum production both on the skin and hair. This makes it an excellent addition to scalp and hair products, especially those targeting oily hair. Try blending with frankincense and clary sage, utilizing Organic Virgin Amla Oil and Organic Black Seed oil to help increase hair growth and balance sebum production.

Petitgrain is excellent at helping to reduce stress and anxiety, and to help reduce effects of insomnia and sleep issues. This makes Petitgrain an ideal option for nighttime ritual products such as diffuser blends, bath soaks, shower steamers, pillow sprays, and hand cream.

Petitgrain works as a strong antiseptic, making it an ideal product to incorporate into skin cleansing and anti-acneic skin products. Make sure to blend this into rich cleansing oils such as Organic Castor Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil,  Oregon Hazelnut Oil. Petitgrain can be very effective at removing dermal fats so you want to be sure to balance with natural oils that will cleanse and hydrate without leaving the skin heavy and greasy.

These same topical benefits for acneic skin also make petitgrain an excellent addition for products targeting eczema and psoriasis. I have many customers looking to create products that will help with eczema. Petitgrain works by soothing and calming the skin, while also helping to remove and balance out excess oil and sebum.
