Laurel Leaf is also referred to as Bay Laurel essential oil. This is not the same as Bay Essential Oil. Laurel Leaf/Bay Laurel come from the Laurus Nobilis tree; Bay essential oil comes from Pimenta Racemosa.
Laurel Leaf essential oil is an excellent oil to use in skincare products targeting acneic skin, red and inflamed skin, wound healing and in hair care products designed to help combat dandruff and scalp dermatitis. Laurel Leaf is naturally antibacterial which makes it powerful for these types of products.
Laurel Leaf is a very strong essential oil which means that you can use in much smaller amounts and still have it be very effective. We recommend keeping your usage at 0.5% or less for topical products. This same antibacterial and antifungal properties make it an excellent choice for healing remedies. If you’re creating a salve or cream meant to go on dry, damaged, skin, especially for individuals experiencing wounds and sores, adding Laurel Leaf Essential Oil can help reduce the symptoms and heal the skin.
Laurel Leaf Essential oil is great for hair care products! You can use this in the small amount (0.5% or less) and have effective levels to help combat dandruff and to help prevent hair loss.

Laurel Leaf blends well with eucalyptus, orange, coriander, juniper, rosemary, cedarwood, lemon, bergamot, and ylang ylang.
