Helix Wicks- This is such a cool wick! With a boosted amount of wick power and the cool twisted appearance, this is your wick solution for those larger candles that need a bigger burn pool and boosted fragrance throw. Engineered by braiding two Aroma-lite® wicks around a stronger paper core, it was developed to burn in sometimes difficult candle systems with high levels of fragrance. Helix wicks are made of 100% natural fibers.

Benefits of Helix wicks

Helix wicks have all the incredible heat throw and controlled burn of Aroma-Lite’s, along with a distinct look and large burn pool.

It can be difficult as a one wick system to achieve large wax pools, however this problem is overcome with the braiding of two wicks together. Reinforced with a paper core the product has a style and performance different than any other wick on the market.

Helix wicks also work really well with blended waxes, all vegetable waxes, and paraffin waxes. Their 100% natural cotton fibers burn hot and even, creating even burn pools with blended waxes. The braided style does create more heat, which is great for paraffin candles.

Helix wicks do burn hotter so be sure to test them in all containers. If you have a container that narrows towards the bottom, be sure to use a smaller size wick.

What type of waxes work well with Helix wicks?

Helix wicks are specifically designed to work best with vegetable based waxes and wax blends. Helix can work in paraffin wax blends.

Can Helix wicks work with high fragrance load candles?

Helix wicks work especially well with high fragrance load candles, and with candles with heavy fragrances that can be more tricky to wick.

Heavy vanilla or heavy floral fragrances can sometimes require a more powerful wick, so increasing your wick to a Helix series may be the best answer.

Are Helix wicks self-trimming?

Helix wicks are made by braiding two Aroma-Lite wicks together. This creates a stronger wick with higher heat output, and this can prevent efficient self-trimming. There may need to be some wick trimming along the way, depending on the wax blend and fragrance used.

Mushrooming is caused when there is an imbalance between the amount of heat the wick puts off and the amount needed for the candle. Generally, this means that the wick is too large for the candle; either the flame and burn pool are too large, so you need to scale down in wick size, or the wick burns too hot for that specific wax type.

Do Shay wicks contain lead?

As always, all our wicks are zinc and lead free; made of natural fibers only.

For personal guarantees, always test each wick with each different wax type, fragrance and container. Personal testing is the only way to ensure how the wick will perform in your product.

Wick Accessories

Wick tabs– These are metal wick tabs that you can use on any bulk wicking material. Our tabs are 20mm x 3mm with a 6mm wick tab sticking up. You’ll thread your wicking material through the tab, then crimp the wick tab around the wick base. These can be used with any wick, not just with our wicking material. You will use these to adhere to our wick stickers, then affix that to your container.

Wick Holding Bars – Metal bars to center and support your wick while candle is setting. Candle wick holder bars are 4″ long 1/2″ wide with center spot to hold the wick.

Wick Stickers– These wick stickers are sized to fit the pre-tabbed wicks that we carry and most pre-tabbed wicks in the industry. Wick stickers are double-sided, foam stickers that are designed to withstand the high heat of hot candle pours, and are a lower profile sticker so that your candle can burn almost all the way down to the bottom. Wick stickers measure 1/2” in diameter and have been specifically tested to work with all of our wick styles. These wick stickers are made custom for us with almost 2 years of testing to ensure they work perfect for you and your customer. These will work with all wax types.

Wick Stickers are sold in quantities of 25, 100, 500 and 1000.

Candle Warning Labels, Small (1.25×1.25)

Candle Warning Labels, Large (2×2)

Warning labels for the bottom of your candle containers. Glossy white stickers with black print. We carry two sizes, large (2 inch) and small (1.25 inch).

Label reads:
BURNING INSTRUCTIONS: Trim wick to 1/4″ before lighting. Keep candle free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings. Only burn the candle on a level, fire resistant surface. Do not burn candle for more than 4 hours at one time. Stop use when only 1/4″ of wax remains.

WARNING: Burn within sight. Keep away from flammable objects. Keep away from children and pets.
