Fuller’s Earth Clay is a popular clay for use in skincare, hair care and soap products due to its naturally high mineral content. Fuller’s Earth Clay is a lovely shade of almost a desert rose color with little to no aroma. You can incorporate Fuller’s Earth Clay into your soaps to color the soap bars naturally.

Fuller’s Earth Clay is often used in facial and scalp treatments, such as masks and creams. The high mineral content helps to sooth irritated skin and helps to decrease oil product, both in skin and on the scalp.

Fuller’s Earth Clay is also used as hair thickening treatment. You can use it directly on the scalp in small amounts to help control daily oily production, and to give boost to heavy, flat roots.

Fuller’s Earth, when used in facial care products, has both a cooling and tightening effect. You want to caution clients from using a Fuller’s Earth mask daily as it can be excessively drying when used too often. Products that incorporate Fuller’s Earth Clay can help tighten the skin, reducing the signs of wrinkles and helping to combat hyperpigmentation.

Fuller’s Earth would be an excellent ingredient to add to a facial cleansing product! This could be a soap bar (think of our Activated Charcoal melt and pour soap), with Fuller’s Earth added to help boost brightening and control oil production, then with any one of our Jojoba Beads or Jojoba Seed Powder as a gentle exfoliant. You could also include Activated Charcoal and Fuller’s Earth Clay in your liquid cleanser, both helping to pull out impurities and leave skin glowing and clean.

If you’re adding masks to your skincare line, think about including Fuller’s Earth and Turmer Powder into your facial mask. Fuller’s Earth Clay works to control oil production, deep cleanse pores and boost circulation to help heal skin; turmeric is used to brighten and illuminate. Go easy on the amount of turmeric so you don’t turn your client’s skin yellow! Consider adding Mustard Seed Oil to give that warming effect, and Mafura Cold Pressed Oil for its high fatty acid profile.
