Polyquaternium 37 is a liquid cationic acrylic homopolymer dispersed in a blend of vegetable based propylene glycol and caprylic and capric alcohols (coconut based). Polyquat 37 is an easy-to-use thickener/emulsifier to help stabilize liquid formulas, decrease frizz and enhance conditioning in hair, leaving non-greasy/non-static skin-feel.
This is an oil-phase thickener, increasing spreadability of thicker formulas, increasing hydration on the skin, and leaving a non-sticky, non-greasy feel.
Polyquaternium 37 is beneficial in hair care products because it increases combability and allows hair to go longer between washes. This is an excellent ingredient to add if you’re creating products designed to smooth frizzy or damaged hair.

When used in skincare applications, Polyquaternium 37 stabilized oil/water emulsions without the use of extra emulsifiers. Polyquat 37 is easy to use and creates excellent skin-feel in cream formulations, without any tacky or greasy after-feel.

How to use:
Disperse Polyquat 37 into the water phase
Mix well with high-shear mixer
Heat to 75-85°C/167-176°F before combining with oil based ingredients
Cool to room temp while mixing continuously
Add fragrance, preservative, other temperature sensitive ingredients at around 40°C/104°F
Polyquaternium 37 is sold in 4-ounce amber glass bottles, 8-ounce amber glass bottles, 16-ounce amber glass bottles, BPA-free ½ gallon plastic jugs, BPA-free 1-gallon plastic jugs, BPA-free 5-gallon plastic buckets.
