Palmarosa essential oil is such a beautiful essential oil. Palmarosa is part of the lemongrass family, but has a much more subtle, citrus, bright scent. Palmarosa does have a rose smell, although it is not a rose essential oil. Sometimes palmarosa is incorporated into blends in place of rose essential oil as it is less expensive, but still contributes the rose notes.

Palmarosa is one of those essential oils you will want to incorporate into your skincare line simply because of all the benefits! One of the biggest proponents to using palmarosa in your face cleaning  bars, facial oils and moisturizes is the massive level of moisture it delivers to the skin. Along with moisturizing the skin, it has been said that palmarosa essential oil also helps balance the sebum production, helping to reduce the signs of acne.

Palmarosa essential oil is also a great addition to your pet product line. If you are creating a dog shampoo bar/wash, incorporate palmarosa into your line to help combat dry, itchy skin and some skin disorders.

Palmarosa essential oil has also been said to help relieve feelings of stress and anxiety, and can possibly help balance hormonal emotions. Try blending palmarosa essential oil, bergamot essential oil and palo santo to create a soothing, calming diffuser blend. Palmarosa will burn in a candle, so when you’re creating your spa blends make sure to add this one it!

Palmarosa essential oil blends well with lavender, geranium rose, bergamot, rosemary, lime, ylang ylang, patchouli, rose, rhododendron, and lemon.

Do not apply directly to skin. Most essential oils are not designed to be applied directly, rather they are designed to be mixed with a carrier oil such as our organic sunflower or organic jojoba oils.  Always perform a small patch test when applying to skin.
