Paprika is more than just a spice for chicken, it is also a spice for skin and hair care! Paprika powder is a lovely orange-red color and can be combined with Annatto or Turmeric to turn up the orange in your finished soap bars and skincare products.
Paprika powder can do more than just color your products! Paprika is high in beta-carotene, which converts to Vitamin A when applied to skin, and it helps boost circulation. This makes paprika great not only for anti-aging products but also for hair care products.
Paprika powder can be added directly to shampoo bars, hair masks or serums. The spice in paprika boosts circulation, which will help to increase hair growth and cleanse the scalp. You can use paprika dry, like a scalp scrub, or you can extract it into an oil (such as Organic Argan or Organic Avocado Oil), and create a hair and scalp treatment.
This same boost in circulation that you get on the scalp also helps the skin. Increased circulation means increase healing. Combined with the natural beta-carotene and natural vitamin C content, paprika can be a very fun ingredient to add to retinol and acne lines.
Looking to create a face scrub for your product line? Make sure to use clays and seed powders as they are powerful treatments and can be left on for 2-20 minutes, then scrubbed off to boost that power. Dry scrubs are an excellent way to get a scrub into the hands of your clients, without having to worry about a preservative. Just package in a bottle with a shaker lid or in a bottle with an easy pour opening, and then activate with water or an oil.
