We love our pure magnesium products, both the Magnesium bath flakes and the magnesium oil. These are the absolute best way to get the highest level of absorbable magnesium. Both the Magnesium Flakes and Magnesium Oil are made of magnesium chloride that is extracted from the Zechstein seabed.
Ultra Pure Zechstein Seabed Magnesium Oil is made by hydrating pure magnesium chloride flakes with water. This creates a topical application product that can be used as is directly on the skin or incorporated into water/oil emulsified products and bathing products.
Magnesium is an essential mineral that we are all now deficient in due to modern farming practices. There simply isn’t enough to absorb through our foods, so we need to supplement through topical applications and through dietary supplements. The magnesium chloride products we sell at Shay and Company are only designed to be used topically, not to be taken internally.
What are the benefits of topical magnesium products?
Magnesium is critical in many bodily functions, including:
- Bone density
- Muscle strains/aches
- Improved athletic performance
- Improved cardiovascular health
- PMS/Menstrual difficulties
- Sleep disorders
- ADHD
- Headaches
- Diabetes
- Eczema
- Psoriasis
How to incorporate Magnesium into your products?
We have long been using Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) in our bath products because they are a less expensive form of magnesium and very easy to work with. The only disadvantage is that very little of the magnesium is actually absorbable. I still love Epsom salts for bath soaks and scrubs, I just suggest supplementing your products with pure magnesium chloride products to boost that level of absorbable magnesium.
Magnesium Oil- this is a pre-diluted magnesium chloride that is ready to use in any liquid product or in your bath soaks and balms.
Liquid product-this is a shelf stable liquid so you can add this to your existing lotion or body butter base to create a magnesium body care product. For example, in our All Purpose Lotion Base, you can add up to 10% Magnesium Oil directly to the lotion. No need to heat anything up, just add the oil in and mix well.
Bath bombs and Bath Soaks- many of you work already with our Magnesium Bath Flakes in your bath bombs and soaks, and you have realized how much Magnesium Flakes love to attract moisture! I still encourage you to include these, especially in bath soaks, as they are tremendous products and even more pure than magnesium oil. The magnesium oil, however, will be super simple to add to your dry products. Simply use as you would any other liquid.
For bath soaks, I would suggest adding Magnesium Oil at the very end and I would suggest adding your scent to the Magnesium Oil, rather than to the dry materials. This will be easier to scent and it will carry the scent load better. You can use 1-2% liquid an up, depending on your finished packaging and how wet you want your bath soaks.
As a body treatment, you can use Magnesium Oil as a stand-alone product or incorporate into any body oil or body cream/lotion.
Usage instructions: Ultra-Pure Magnesium Oil can be applied directly to your skin, so you can repackage this as is and sell to your customers. You can use it as an all-over body product, or specifically have your customers target the soles of their fee, hands and lower legs. This gives great application points with high absorption points.
Feel free to add essential oils and fragrances to the Magnesium Oil. Stay at 2% or less as this is a body topical product.
