Glyceryl Stearate SE is an all-natural emulsifier used in skincare and hair care formulas. This product is self-emulsifying, meaning when blended with water it does not separate. The SE indicates a small amount of potassium stearate, which makes it emulsify on its own.

Glyceryl Stearate SE helps to increase moisture retention in both skin and hair by creating a barrier that prevents water loss. This is ideal in emulsified body butters, creams and lotions. Glyceryl Stearate SE is non-comedogenic so you can incorporate these in your lines dedicated to combat acneic skin, eczema, and psoriasis.

Glyceryl Stearate SE has many functions, many of which are designed to help stabilize the finished product. This includes creating a smooth blend of oils and waters, plus stabilizing that blend preventing drying or crust from developing on top. When incorporated into shampoos or conditioners it helps to increase hydration in the hair follicles, decreasing frizz. This same attribute also helps keep hair soft and prevent tangles and dryness. It will add an opaqueness to your shampoo and conditioner.
