Stabilio Wicks are made of cotton with paper fibers throughout the wick. Stabilio wicks are ideal for tealights, votives, pillars and container candles because of the increased rigidity and excellent burning capabilities for vegetable-based waxes. Stabilio wicks are a flat braid with easy trimming capabilities.

CD wicks are excellent with fragrance and hot throw. CD wicks flat braided cotton wicks, woven with paper filaments. These filaments help stabilize the flame and help boost the hot throw. CD wicks are extremely popular among professional candle makes for their fragrance boost.

What type of waxes work well with Stabilio CD series wicks?

CD wicks work well in soy, coconut blends and paraffin blends. Since CD wicks generate more heat than other wicks they do create more hot throw. This comes in handy with soy-blended waxes as soy and coconut waxes do not have has much fragrance throw as pure paraffin waxes.

Can Stabilio CD wicks work with high fragrance load candles?

Yes, CD wicks work great with high fragrance candles and can often burn better than other wicks allowing you to go down in the amount of fragrance you have to use in your candle.

Heavy vanilla or heavy floral fragrances can sometimes require a more powerful wick, so if you are finding that the CD wick of choice is not burning as evenly as you’d like with those scents, increase your wick size by one and re-test.

Are Stabilio CD wicks self-trimming?

CD wicks are self-trimming but sometimes can cause mushrooming. This especially happens with heavy fragrance oils. Careful trimming of the wick and proper sizing for the container will minimize this.

Mushrooming is caused when there is an imbalance between the amount of heat the wick puts off and the amount needed for the candle. Generally, this means that the wick is too large for the candle; either the flame and burn pool are too large, so you need to scale down in wick size, or the wick burns too hot for that specific wax type.

Do Shay wicks contain lead?

As always, all our wicks are zinc and lead free; made of natural fibers only.

For personal guarantees, always test each wick with each different wax type, fragrance and container. Personal testing is the only way to ensure how the wick will perform in your product.

Wick Accessories

Wick tabs– These are metal wick tabs that you can use on any bulk wicking material. Our tabs are 20mm x 3mm with a 6mm wick tab sticking up. You’ll thread your wicking material through the tab, then crimp the wick tab around the wick base. These can be used with any wick, not just with our wicking material. You will use these to adhere to our wick stickers, then affix that to your container.

Wick Holding Bars – Metal bars to center and support your wick while candle is setting. Candle wick holder bars are 4″ long 1/2″ wide with center spot to hold the wick.

Wick Stickers– These wick stickers are sized to fit the pre-tabbed wicks that we carry and most pre-tabbed wicks in the industry. Wick stickers are double-sided, foam stickers that are designed to withstand the high heat of hot candle pours, and are a lower profile sticker so that your candle can burn almost all the way down to the bottom. Wick stickers measure 1/2” in diameter and have been specifically tested to work with all of our wick styles. These wick stickers are made custom for us with almost 2 years of testing to ensure they work perfect for you and your customer. These will work with all wax types.

Candle Warning Labels, Small (1.25×1.25)

Candle Warning Labels, Large (2×2)

Warning labels for the bottom of your candle containers. Glossy white stickers with black print. We carry two sizes, large (2 inch) and small (1.25 inch).

Label reads:
BURNING INSTRUCTIONS: Trim wick to 1/4″ before lighting. Keep candle free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings. Only burn the candle on a level, fire resistant surface. Do not burn candle for more than 4 hours at one time. Stop use when only 1/4″ of wax remains.

WARNING: Burn within sight. Keep away from flammable objects. Keep away from children and pets.
