What is polysorbate 80 used for? Also known as tween, polysorbate 80 is a natural vegan, vegetable-based water-and-oil emulsifier. When making body sprays, perfumes, bath bombs, hand sanitizer, etc, you can mix in a small amount of polysorbate 80 to your water base, then add in your oils/essential oils/fragrances. The addition of polysorbate 80 allows the water and oil to mix.
Add in up to 3% polysorbate 80 into your lotions, creams, sprays, bath bombs, bath fizzies, shower gel, body wash, conditioner and more to help stabilize your fragrance/essential oils.
To use in a room or body spray, add equal amounts of polysorbate 80 and fragrance/essential oil (so, if your recipe calls for 1oz of fragrance/essential oil, you will blend that with 1oz polysorbate 80). Mix the fragrance/essential oil with the polysorbate 80, then add to water/spray solution.
Wholesale polysorbate 80 is sold in 4-ounce amber glass bottles, 8-ounce amber glass bottles, 16-ounce amber glass bottles, half-gallon BPA-free HDPE jugs, 1-gallon BPA-free HDPE jugs, BPA-free 5-gallon (40 pounds) buckets, or 55-gallon drums. Please email us for pricing on 55-gallon drums or more.
