Wild grown Nettle Leaf is a finely ground powder, darker green in color with a very faint earthy aroma. Nettle Leaf can be used as a colorant for your skincare and soaps, but it is also an excellent ingredient to extract and use in shampoos, conditioners, skin soothing treatments and acne products.
Nettle Leaf has been used in hair care formulas both to help increase new hair growth, and to create stronger, smoother hair. Nettle Leaf can be extracted into distilled water and used in your formulas, or you can extract nettle into your oils and incorporate those into your shampoos, shampoo bars, hair masks and conditioning treatments. Nettle Leaf works to strengthen hair as it is a natural source of silica. You could also include Horsetail Butter into your hair and skin products to boost that natural silica content. Organic Comfrey and USP grade Allantoin are great ones to use for silica boosting content. Combine all three of these to create a powerful hair repair line!
Just as silica is good for hair, it is excellent for skin. Incorporating natural silica into skincare lines helps repair damages skin and helps boost natural collagen production. This makes for firmer, younger looking skin.
Looking to create a face scrub for your product line? Make sure to use clays and seed powders as they are powerful treatments and can be left on for 2-20 minutes, then scrubbed off to boost that power. Dry scrubs are an excellent way to get a scrub into the hands of your clients, without having to worry about a preservative. Just package in a bottle with a shaker lid or in a bottle with an easy pour opening, and then activate with water or an oil.
