Limes are bright and green and fresh and conjure up images of a tropical beach somewhere. Limes themselves are used all over the world for their bacteria killing properties and to enhance flavors in food.
Ever wondered why, when in Mexico, they give you limes with everything? Some of that is to enhance the taste in the food, but it is also because limes are amazing at killing bacteria. Squeeze lime juice on lettuce or greens or the edge of soda bottles, anything you need to ensure it is extra clean. Lime essential oil will work with the same in any kind of personal care or cleaning product. Add lime essential oil to a diffuser blend to help clean the air, or add it to your handmade soap bar or laundry detergent to brighten the scent and boost the cleaning power.
In the same way that lime can kill bacteria on your taco, it can also kill bacteria on skin. Lime essential oil is even said to wounds and help fight tetanus. If you’re making diffuser blends, try creating one to help kill sinus infections (maybe a blend of lime and eucalyptus).
Lime essential oil, along with other citrus like sweet orange, lemon and bergamot, are all high in natural vitamin c. Add a blend of lime, lemon and bergamot essential oil to your facial cleanser, serum and lotion products to boost the vitamin c content and help to boost collagen.
