Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil is a bright, lemony top note with hints of rose, balsamic and slightly floral notes. It is softer than pure eucalyptus and not as strong as lemon, lemongrass, litsea or melissa. Lemon Eucalyptus is often used to create elegant perfume blends, adding bright lemony top notes. Lemon Eucalyptus is its own plant, not a blend of Lemon and Eucalyptus essential oils.
Lemon Eucalyptus has a naturally high citronellol content, making it an excellent addition to facial cleansing products. It does have a limit on the percentage so you will want to blend this with other essential oils and not use just lemon eucalyptus. An excellent blend for face and body cleansers would be lemon eucalyptus, clary sage, bergamot mint. All key at balancing sebum production and cleaning the skin without stripping, plus the scent blend would be citrus and herbal!
Lemon Eucalyptus also makes an excellent scent to add to home cleansing products and shower steams. Lemon Eucalyptus is great for cleaning and purifying the air, so consider adding it to diffuser blends. Lemon Eucalyptus is softer than traditional Eucalyptus so it can be more relaxing in scent blends.
The cleansing effects of Lemon Eucalyptus also apply when used in hair care products. Lemon Eucalyptus is great for cleansing the scalp and helping to reduce oily hair. This essential oil also smells divine in hair care products so consider adding it to your shampoo and conditioner products. Lemon Eucalyptus really blends well with so many other scents and gives such a lovely, lemony aroma without the strong lemon notes.
Lemon Eucalyptus has a reputation for use in bug repellant products, but it really should be used more to create scent blends. You can incorporate lemon eucalyptus into your bug repellant blends, using other ingredients like citronella, lemongrass, neem and rosemary. Lemon Eucalyptus will burn well in candles so I do recommend adding it to citronella for your bug candles.
As a note, Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil is not the same as Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus (OLE). OLE is a concentrated extract from the lemon eucalyptus leaves and enriched to create a stronger bug deterrent effect. Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil does still have properties that help to deter bugs, but it is not enhanced like OLE is.
Lemon Eucalyptus blends well with citronella, melissa (lemon balm), litsea, eucalyptus, tea tree, laurel leaf, lavender, lavandin, marjoram, niaouli, yuzu, bergamot, clary sage, lemon, lemongrass, bergamot mint
Essential oils are sold in 0.5-ounce amber glass, 1-ounce amber glass with dropper, 4-ounce amber glass, 8-ounce amber glass, 16-ounce amber glass, 5-pound aluminum bottles, and 10-pound HDPE BPA-free jugs. For 25-pounds or larger, please email us at orders@shayandcompany.com.
Do not apply directly to skin. Most essential oils are not designed to be applied directly, rather they are designed to be mixed with a carrier oil such as our organic sunflower or organic jojoba oils. Always perform a small patch test when applying to skin.
Do not take internally unless you are licensed to apply them as such.
