Evening primrose oil is a cold-processed oil, unrefined and yellow to amber in color. Evening primrose oil is rich in fatty acids, including gamma-linolenic and linoleic acids. Fatty acids are beneficial as both a supplement and as a topical application. Topically, organic evening primrose oil is ideal in products designed to help treat eczema, psoriasis, and acne.
Our specific organic evening primrose has been tested to have 10% gamma linolenic acid (GLA), a specific type of omega 6 fatty acid. GLA is an excellent ingredient for skincare. Omega-6 fatty acids help reduce inflammation, making it an excellent addition to any anti-acne skincare product; organic evening primrose oil helps to boost hydration and leave skin more moisturized; organic evening primrose oil also helps to have firmer, more elastic skin.
Organic evening primrose oil is an excellent alternative to borage oil.
A study was done in Switzerland showing that topical application of organic evening primrose oil improved moisture retention, firmness and reduced the roughness of skin. Consider using organic evening primrose oil in a face cream, serum, moisturizer, wash, eye treatment, hair treatment or soap bar.

First time working with this carrier oil in CP soap and I’m pleased with everything. Very mild odor, doesn’t come through in finished bars. Pours easily from the bottle, worked well!

I love using evening primrose in my body care products. It does wonders for the skin and I love the quality of the evening primrose from Shay & Company.
