Note on fragrance names- There is no regulation on fragrance names with the FDA, and fragrance names do not represent any specific ingredient like essential oils do. You can call any fragrance whatever name you want to call it, so get imaginative with your fragrance names!
All our fragrances are designed to be used in soaps, candles, skincare and haircare.
At Shay and Company we have several different versions of coconut scents because they all smell so good and they all hit a different target. All Natural Desert Coconut is that sexy, warm, smooth tropical coconut. Like sex on the beach but without all the sand in the places it shouldn’t be.
Desert Coconut 100% Natural Fragrance has top notes of orange, pineapple and banana but they are subtle, not overwhelming fruit forward. The middle exotic fruit fusion layered with creamy, dreamy coconut is what you primarily smell. Followed up by ripe plum and sweeeet vanilla sugar. The top fruit notes blend with that coconut sugar to elicit a caramelized fruit aroma. I imagine this is what the sheets smell like at those huts over the water in Tahiti.

Is all natural Desert Coconut Fragrance Prop 65 Compliant?
Please note this fragrance does have prop 65 ingredients. We do our best to source the cleanest versions of fragrances but know that not all scents can be re-recreated without some of these crazy chemicals. Fragrances are particular that way. Even essential oils have Prop 65 ingredients in them as many are naturally occurring ingredients. We do try to be as transparent as possible when it comes to what is in our fragrances.

This formula does contain 100% natural essential oils of which may contain beta-myrcene and benzene, both of which is on the Prop 65 list. We believe the volume in the end product falls below the safe harbor levels designated by Prop 65 and therefore this product does not have a Prop 65 warning. Please see our letter on Prop 65 warnings.
What does it mean that this fragrance is All Natural?
This means that every ingredient used to create that specific aroma is natural. Does not mean they are all essential oils, just that every ingredient used is from a natural source. These fragrances will be more expensive, but true to everything else, you get what you pay for.
What does it mean if a Shay and Company fragrance is not all natural?
Fragrances are a blend of different ingredients to create a smell. Not all of these ingredients are found in nature, but that doesn’t mean they are necessarily harmful. If you are specifically looking for just 100% natural fragrances, we have an excellent list for you here. But sometimes all natural fragrances are the scent profile you are looking for, or they are more expensive than you want to pay. Natural is more expensive, not necessarily just because the ingredients cost more but because the scientific expertise behind making an all-natural fragrance work well takes years of experience, and that costs.

Are there Endocrine disrupting properties in this fragrance?
At Shay and Company we strive to provide the highest quality ingredients and we are very particular about our fragrances. All Natural Desert Coconut Fragrance does not contain an endocrine disruptor (ED) in a concentration of ≥ 0.1%.
If the flash point is 138°F, can I use this in a candle?
Yes, even though this product has a low flash point it will still work perfectly in both candles and soaps. You’ll just want to add the fragrance when your wax or soap has achieved the absolute coolest temperature it can reach before solidifying/coming to trace. Natural fragrances often have lower flash points so you just add them late.
What kind of products can I use All Natural Desert Coconut Fragrance in?
You can use Desert Coconut all natural fragrance in anything except lip care products. Think melt-and-pour soaps, shampoos, conditioners (both liquid and bar forms), body creams, cuticle butters, scalp treatments, body wash, lotion, facial serums (go light on all face care products!), spa collections, body scrubs, candles, wax melts, room sprays, household cleaning products, laundry, hotel lines, you name it!

What does Desert Coconut all natural Fragrance smell like?
Desert Coconut fragrance smells of warm sugared fruits with a vanilla coconut base. Rich but not too sweet.
Is this fragrance a feminine fragrance?
Desert Coconut Fragrance is definitely not a “feminine” fragrance. This is one that will entice everyone.
Is Desert Coconut a strong fragrance?
Desert Coconut is a mid-level fragrance, meaning it is strong enough to come through beautifully in soaps and not so strong that it is overwhelming in delicate skincare and hair care formulas.
What is the difference between our Coco Cream, Caribbean Coconut, Vanilla Coconut and Desert Coconut?
Coco Cream is just that, pure creamy coconut. Excellent fragrance to blend with others to add a creamy depth; not overly tropical; no banana or fruit notes.
Caribbean Coconut is a true tropical coconut. More fruit forward with yummy coconut.
Vanilla Coconut is like coconut sugar mixed with vanilla extract.
Desert Coconut is more caramelized fruits with coconut and sugar blended, in a warm, sexy way.
I’m allergic to coconut, can I still use Coconut Fragrance in my products?
Yes, none of our coconut fragrances have any actual coconut oil in it so you can feel free to enjoy the coconut aroma without any fear of allergens.
Can you use All Natural Desert Coconut Fragrance in cold processed soaps?
Yes! We specifically curate our fragrances for all our soap makers.
Is coconut a popular fragrance?
Yes, people love coconut fragrances. They are about as well received as vanilla fragrances.
Can I use Desert Coconut All Natural Fragrance in candles?
Yes, and please do! Your house will smell like a warm oasis. You can use this in all wax types and in wax melts.

Fragrances are sold in 1-ounce amber glass bottles, 4-ounce amber glass bottles, 8-ounce amber glass bottles, 16-ounce amber glass bottles, 5-pound aluminum bottles, 10-pound HDPE BPA-free jugs, and 25-pound sizes. 25 pound sizes may have a later ship date depending on stock on hand. Do not apply directly to skin. Most fragrance oils are not designed to be applied directly, rather they are designed to be mixed with a carrier oil such as our organic sunflower or organic jojoba oils.  Always perform a small patch test when applying to skin.
Do not take internally unless you are licensed to apply them as such.
