Dead Sea salts are one of the best ways to help improve skin condition and detox at the same time. Shay and Company offers two sizes of Dead Sea salts, fine and coarse grind.
Dead Sea salts are mined directly out of the Dead Sea and are completely unfiltered, unaltered mineral salts. Dead Sea salts provide the following benefits:
Magnesium- Magnesium helps benefit more than just the skin. We are all deficient in magnesium. We do get magnesium from food but not enough to replenish our needs. Soaking in baths where you add Dead Sea salts and Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salts) can help to balance out that magnesium deficiency. Magnesium helps to decrease depression, improves sleep, reduces muscle aches and pains, help relieve symptoms from acne, eczema, psoriasis and dry skin, helps to improve nerve communication, and helps with issues such as ADHD, anxiety, PMS and more.
Bromide- helps to relax nerves, improve skin and relieve muscle aches and pains.
Iodine- helps to improve thyroid function and helps detox the body
Sulfur- our cells and bones are made of organic suflur, but as we age our bodies lose all this. Suflur helps to keep the body functioning correctly, helps deliver nutrients all the way into our cells, and helps to keep the skin firm and healthy. Incorporating Dead Sea detox baths will help to increase the natural sulfur in our bodies and will help to improve the detox process.
Potassium- potassium helps to regulate skin’s moisture, helping to alleviate symptoms of dry skin and other skin issues. Potassium also helps to flush the body of excess water retention.
Calcium- calcium is a key mineral for bone density and to help improve skin and deep clean pores.
Sodium- too much sodium intake is bad, but the right amount of sodium and using sodium in a bath/soak is an ideal way to accelerate detoxification and help to purify the skin. Sodium is also a key ingredient in helping to reduce muscle cramps and spasms.
Zinc- zinc is a key mineral to help detox the skin and to help heal the skin. Zinc is used in everything from natural sunscreens to diaper rash specifically because it is great at protecting the skin and helps to heal wounds, dry skin, eczema and psoriasis.
Dead Sea Salt is also said to help reduce wrinkles. Who knew! Research has been done and says that the minerals in Dead Sea Salt, specifically, help to reduce depth of wrinkles by up to 40%, and helps to moisturize, soften and mineralized the skin. Dead Sea salt also helps to boost sulfur levels, which is one of the best natural treatments for acne. Incorporate a Dead Sea salt bath into your personal care schedule once or twice per week to help improve all of your skin!
Our fine Dead Sea salt has the same health benefits as the coarse grind but is more applicable for different uses. Try using the Dead Sea salt for bath soaks (blend with Epsom salt and pink Himalayan sea salt to give full-spectrum benefits) or as an addition to creamy body scrub using some of our natural butters and oils. The coarse Dead Sea salt makes a great addition to any bath soak as a complimentary salt, adding dimension to the look of your soak. We do not suggest using just coarse salts in a bath or hot tub soak as they will not dissolve fast enough and could cause damage in the long-run. Coarse Dead Sea salts would also work great in handmade soap bars as an exfoliant and detoxifier, or you can use it in cooking, baking or in a grinder as your seasoning salt.
Dead sea salt is sold in 1-pound, 5-pound and 55-pound sizes. Please email us directly for pricing on 250-pounds or more.
