Organic Carnauba Wax is an easy-to-use natural plant wax designed to help maintain stable viscosity while also increasing shine and hydration in finished products. Organic Carnauba Wax is yellow waxy flakes with mild to no aroma. This is called the “Queen of Waxes” as it is supremely easy to use.
Sustainability of our Organic Carnauba Wax
Organic Carnauba is derived from the Brazilian palm tree Copernica Cerifera. The wax is a coating on the leaves that is shaken to be removed, then filtered and melted to create the wax flakes. The natural water protection properties of the coating transfer directly to your end product, making it an excellent addition to salves, creams and moisturizers.
The leaves are done by pruning the leaves only- no trees are sacrificed in the process. The leaves are harvested just once a year. The particular wax that we used is harvested and protected by The Initiative for Responsible Carnauba (IRC). This organization is responsible for ensuring safe harvesting and long-term maintenance of this specific type of palm. This is not the same palm that palm oil is derived from and it not subject to RSPO.
Organic Carnauba Wax is bio-degradable and a sustainable crop.
What are the benefits of Organic Carnauba Wax?

Organic Carnauba Wax is often used in salves, lip balms, color cosmetics, and creams due to both the moisture retention properties and the creamy finish. When you incorporate Organic Carnauba Wax into your emulsified products, it leaves a great skin-feel and creates a shine on the skin.
Organic Carnauba wax is also excellent at creating and maintaining the viscosity of your finished product. Carnauba wax allows for a firm consistency in warmer climates, while still providing easy glide on the skin and a creamy feel, rather than a product that gets hard.
How to use Carnauba Wax?
Organic Carnauba Wax has a high melt point. Generally recommend melting high melt point ingredients first, then adding in your other butters at cooler temperatures. Ingredients such as shea butter and mango butter can get grainy if they are heated too hot and not cooled fast enough in the finished product.
Lotions and Creams- melt and blend into the oil phase of your formula. Carnauba wax will thicken and stabilize the viscosity. Carnauba wax creates a glossy feel and can leave a beautiful shine on the skin.
Lip Balms, Lip Sticks, Lip Creams- blend with other stabilizing waxes such as beeswax, sunflower wax, rice bran wax, jojoba esters, or laurel wax. Once melted, allow to cool then add in your butters and oils. Cool further before adding flavors, essential oils and oil based colorants.

Short Term Storage: Air tight container. Dark location. Cool room temperature.
Long Term Storage: Removing air from storage container will delay oxidation and rancidity (may need to place in a smaller container). Refrigeration can extend shelf life.
