Body Butter Cream base with Organic Shea Butter

body butter cream made with organic shea butter

Our popular Shea Butter Cream Base has been improved and is back in stock! Plus, it is a much better price!!

Please welcome our incredibly thick, luxurious body butter cream base that is ready for you to customize! This product replaces our previous version of Shea Butter Cream. That product was too inconsistent in viscosity. This base will always be thick and rich right from the beginning- no need to worry or wait.

All our cosmetic bases are made with the idea that you will customize the base on your end. Body Butter Cream base with Organic Shea Butter can be thinned using any natural oil or deionized water. You can add exfoliants to create a body or foot scrub; you can add colorants; you can add clays to create a face or hair mask; you can add fragrance and essential oils; you can add organic hydrosols or organic witch hazel to thin out and create a lotion. The ideas are endless!

Tips for customizing our whipped shea body butter base:

  •  This base can take up to 10% added ingredients, including your fragrance/essential oil. Standard fragrance loads for cosmetic bases is 1-2%. If you want a really strongly scented base, you could try up to3%, but that will be very potent.
  • Always weigh your ingredients, including the shea body butter base. That should always be the way you work, never just go by teaspoons, tablespoons or drops. Those are not easily replicated and you want to be able to replicate your awesome product!
  • You don’t need to warm up the shea body butter cream base at all to get the products to blend into it. This is very thick base, but if you add your raw ingredients in the middle of you batch, then mix with a paddle mixer, they will blend in just fine. What I mean by this is if you’re going to make 1 gallon of base (8 pounds), then put 4 pounds of lotion in your mixing container, add in your other raw materials (essential oils, carrier oils, panthenolvitamin e, etc.), then add in the rest of your shea body butter cream. This puts the liquid ingredients already in the middle. Then mix, starting slowly, so everything is melded together nicely.
  • You can extract different ingredients into the shea body butter cream base, such as CBD. You will need to slightly warm the shea body butter cream in order to push the extraction. The key is never get the shea body butter cream hot, or you will violate the preservative system. This is also true if you decide to heat it up to add in your other ingredients. Always keep as cool as possible and don’t keep the shea body butter cream base hot or you could have bacterial issues.
  • I do recommend using jars for this product instead of bottles as it is very thick!

This formula does have a slightly different ingredient deck, though we did our best to keep it as close as possible. We really wanted to create a body butter base that had high levels of organic shea butter and that was stable in viscosity right when you get it. The previous iteration took too long to cool and too long to get thick. Product stability is key, both for your success and ours.

Our Body Butter Base with Organic Shea is sold in 1-poundHDPE-jars, BPA-free 1-gallon buckets, BPA-free 5-gallon buckets, and 55-gallon plastic drums. Please email for 55-gallon+ pricing.
