Tobacco Absolute is one of my favorite scents and an extremely popular ingredient in high end perfumes. Tobacco Absolute does not smell like nicotine or cigarettes; tobacco absolute has a soothing, beautiful base note that is warm and woody.

Tobacco Absolute is often used in high-end perfumes and colognes because it contributes that solid base aroma, much like Tonka Bean Absolute. This absolute is solid and will have to be gently warmed in order to use it. You would add the liquified absolute to your other essential oils, blend well then add into your liquid products.

The smell of tobacco absolute is extremely beneficial to help reduce anxiety, reduce symptoms of depression and to elevate the mood. It can be used in essential oil diffusers and in aromatherapy products.  A pillow spray with Organic Lavender Hydrosol and a small amount of Tobacco absolute would be a great addition to your nigh routine!

Tobacco is used as an additive to other scents to create your custom blend. It is really such a warm, inviting smell. I love it mixed with our Cacao essential oil to make a rich chocolately aroma, or blended with lighter notes like Amyris and Sweet Basil to create an herbal, sweeter blend. You only use tobacco at like 1-5% of your total scent blend so don’t be afraid to play around with it!

Our Tobacco Absolute has not been diluted. Many places sell absolutes that are pre-diluted in an oil like fractionated coconut oil. We don’t do that so our price point is different. You could dilute this down into your own oil of choice before using it, or add the small amount to your essential oil blend before adding to other products.

Tobacco absolute is produced by solvent (hexane) extraction to produce the concrete.  Hexane is evaporated and the remaining concrete is then extracted with alcohol.  The alcohol is evaporated and the remaining material is washed with water to remove the nicotine.  The material after the water wash is tobacco absolute.

Do not apply directly to skin. Most essential oils are not designed to be applied directly, rather they are designed to be mixed with a carrier oil such as our organic sunflower or organic jojoba oils.  Always perform a small patch test when applying to skin.
