Ravensara is a tropical tree in Madagascar. Ravensara essential oil has a spicy, slight sweet scent, makes a great addition to soap bars and skincare products, diffuser blends, and home cleansing products. We did change our Ravensara from the original bark extracted Ravensara anisate to the more popular leaf extracted Ravensara Aromatica. The smell is on par with each other, the leaf is just a more popular version.

Ravensara essential oil helps to kill bacteria, so this would make a great addition to an acne face wash, serum, or cream, along with a powerful booster for laundry detergent or a body wash. Ravensara would blend well with ginger root and vanilla to boost circulation and help fight skin bacteria.

Ravensara has been used topically to help reduce spasms and cramps. Try incorporating ravensara in organic jojoba oil and Oregon hazelnut oil to make a muscle rub, or try mixing in a little ravensara in your bath soak blend of pure magnesium flakes, epsom salt, sodium bicarbonate, and Dead Sea salts. I can picture a great night cream made with organic shea butter, organic cocoa butter, our organic shea butter cream base and an essential oil blend of black pepper, ravensara, cacao absolute, rose absolute and ginger!

Ravensara essential oil works as a potent expectorant, helping to break up phlegm and clear sinuses.  The sweet and spicy smell of ravensara blends beautifully with spearmint, cajeput and eucalyptus. Use this blend in your diffuser or bath water. A soap bar made with this blend would make your bathroom smell like a spa!

Blends well with Roman Chamomile, Lemon, White Thyme, Lavender, clary sage, cedar, cypress, eucalyptus, frankincense, pine, sandalwood and Ginger.
