Corn starch may seem like a weird ingredient for a soap and candle supply company to carry but corn starch can be a great ingredient to add into your skin care products and bath bombs! Corn starch has many skin benefits and should become a regular addition to your custom products.
Sunburns- cornstarch is great at soothing sunburned skin! Try making a sunburn balm using organic coconut oil, organic jojoba oil, organic tamanu oil and cornstarch. It’ll be nice and thick and extremely soothing to the skin.
Natural Deodorants- are you looking to upgrade your personal care routine or possibly join the natural deodorant world with a brand of your own? Cornstarch mixes well with sodium bicarbonate, organic coconut oil and some essential oils to create a great natural deodorant.
Athlete’s Foot- are you launching a foot care line? Use corn starch blended with some sodium bicarbonate and some essential oils to make a shoe powder, or add to a lotion/cream base with a great essential oil blend (like peppermint and rosemary) to rub on to infected feet.
Milk baths- try adding a little cornstarch to your Epsom salt and Dead Sea Salt blend. The cornstarch will help soothe the skin while the Epsom salt and Dead Sea salt will help pull out toxins.
Make-up- are you looking to add natural makeup products to your skincare line? Kosher corn starch makes an excellent medium to add mica pigments for eye make-up, blush or natural coverup.
Bath bombs- when you add a little cornstarch to your bath bombs it will not only lend a softening factor to the skin, but it will also help control the speed at which the bath bomb dissolves in the water. This will allow your customers to enjoy the fizzing just a bit longer! When making bath bombs, combine the cornstarch and sodium bicarbonate, then citric acid and your soap or butters.
