Shipping Note: Caustic Soda is considered a hazardous material, so there are additional shipping fees when shipping any size container larger than a 1-pound and 2-pound jars. 1-pound and 2-pound jars have no additional fees and they will just ship along with your other items like normal.

1 pound jar- these are eligible to ship in unlimited quantity per UPS without any additional fee. These can also be picked up as Will Call. It is 1 pound by weight of caustic soda in a 19oz HDPE jar with white lid.

2 pound jar- these are eligible to ship in unlimited quantity per UPS without any additional fee. These can also be picked up as Will Call. It is 2 pounds by weight of caustic soda in a 32oz HDPE jar with white lid.

1 gallon wide mouth jug (8 pounds)- These are only eligible for Will Call at our Oregon store. It is 8 pounds by weight of caustic soda in a 128oz HDPE jar with white lid.

1 gallon Jerrican container (10 pounds)- These are eligible for shipping via UPS with a UPS Hazmat shipping fee applied. It is 10 pounds by weight of caustic soda in a 2.5 gallon high density polyethylene jerrican container.

25 pound bucket-There are two options on our website, one for UPS shipping with the UPS fee and one only eligible for Will Call without the UPS fee. We DO NOT control UPS fees. We must comply with their rules or we can lose the ability to ship via UPS. Even with the handling fee added, our prices are the lowest you will find. This will be 25 pounds of caustic soda in a high density polypropylene bucket with screw on lid.

45-pound wholesale bulk sodium hydroxide bead containers (jerrican containers) will ship via UPS. UPS charges a $48 per box handling fee for hazardous materials. This fee is added automatically when your shipping is calculated at checkout. We DO NOT control UPS fees. We must comply with their rules or we can lose the ability to ship via UPS. Even with the handling fee added, our prices are the lowest you will find.

If you are picking up your bulk lye order, there will not be any additional handling fees added.

Caustic soda is also called lye and sodium hydroxide. Caustic soda is used to turn oils into bar soaps. Our sodium hydroxide is in bead form and is very easy to use. If you are trying to create liquid soaps, you will need to purchase Potassium Hydroxide. Our sodium hydroxide is the best for soap making!

Our caustic soda is a 99% pure version and is an excellent lye for soap making.

Please do some research on the use of caustic soda as we cannot guide you on the process.

HANDLING PRECAUTIONS

• Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
• Keep away from incompatible material.
• Wear chemical safety goggles, gloves and protective clothing.
• Wash your hands after handling it.

FIRST AID

Eye or skin contact- Flush with lukewarm, gently running water, holding the eyelid(s) open and take the person to hospital.
Ingestion- Administer large quantities of water followed by milk and take the person to hospital.
Inhalation – Remove person affected to fresh air and take the person to hospital.

Sodium hydroxide beads are sold in 1-pound plastic jars, 8-pound (1-gallon) plastic jugs, and 55-pound bags.

Upon purchasing lye/sodium hydroxide, you understand that the incorrect usage of this product can cause bodily harm. You should wear protective clothing and gear when handling and storing caustic soda beads. This product is only intended to be used for soap making and through your purchase you agree not to resell this material for any other use.
