Who doesn’t love chocolate?!?! I always feel so bad for people who are allergic to chocolate. My mother was a chocolate lover and she passed that gene right on down to me. Welcome to our Cacao (Chocolate) essential oil. This stuff is like Hershey’s syrup in an essential oil bottle. Thick, brown, and a beautiful chocolate smell.
Cacao (ka-kaw) essential oil is so straight from the bean it is almost good enough to eat- but I wouldn’t. Tastes like essential oil. This chocolate essential oil, though, can be used in just about everything you’re going to make. Bath bombs, soap bars, shower gel, foot scrub, candles (yes, this will burn but you’ll want to blend it with something else first), this cacao essential oil is everything you expect it to be.
Cacao essential oil has been said to relieve feelings of stress and anxiety. Try blending cacao oil with mood boosting essential oils like rosemary, peppermint, organic sweet basil, lavender, sweet orange, lemon, frankincense, bergamot, ylang, or vetiver. Cacao has such a great sweet base that you can use this to boost the other top notes.
As a skincare ingredient, cacao oil is more than just aromatherapy. Cacao essential oil is derived directly from the cacao bean, and when it is extracted the omega-6 fatty acids follow it into the essential oils. Omega-6 fatty acids help to boost natural collagen production and firm up the skin. This makes it an excellent addition to creams and moisturizers. Imagine a face-firming cream with organic shea butter, organic cocoa butter, olive oil squalane, organic sea buckthorn oil, organic tamanu oil, Daikon radish seed oil, meadowfoam seed oil, and Oregon hazelnut oil blended with cacao essential oil, rose absolute essential oil, sweet orange essential oil, black pepper essential oil, and turmeric essential oil. It would be spicy and sweet, with super-powered essential oils.
So, I love chocolate, right? Did you know that cacao essential oil (smelling it) can reduce food cravings? Not sure psychologically if I believe that, but that is what the studies say. So, if you hit your 3pm snack hour, maybe cacao oil in your diffuser or candle can help alleviate those cravings.
Cacao essential oil is also known to be an aphrodisiac, increasing blood flow and stimulating the brain and other sexual organs. Cacao would be an excellent addition to massage oils and creams, massage candles, and body scrubs.
Want to use cacao essential oil for all its yummy benefits, but don’t like the price point? Blend it with our Chocolate Honey fragrance to make a super-powered chocolate. Or blend cacao essential oil with vanilla non-discoloring fragrance and coconut island to make a luxurious chocolate coconut bliss. Cacao also blends well with sweet orange essential oil, cardamom essential oil, cinnamon essential oil, clove bud essential oil and coffee essential oil for a Mexican mocha. Or how about cacao essential oil with candy cane fragrance for a peppermint patty? Or cacoa essential oil with fig and flannel….oh my, call it Hiker’s Delight. Cacao and gingerbread….chocolate ginger! Cacao and oatmeal milk and honey would be No Bake Cookies. Cacao and Rice Flower and Shea could be Chocolate Love or Fudge-pop, or Chocolate Cream. Cacao and Amber and Salt and Sea could be Salted Caramel.
Cacao oil is sold in 0.5-ounce amber glass, 1-ounce amber glass with dropper, 4-ounce amber glass, 8-ounce amber glass, 16-ounce amber glass, 5-pound, and 10-pound sizes. For 25 pounds or larger, please email us at orders@shayandcompany.com.
Do not apply directly to skin. Most essential oils are not designed to be applied directly, rather they are designed to be mixed with a carrier oil such as our organic sunflower or organic jojoba oils. Always perform a small patch test when applying to skin.
Do not take internally unless you are licensed to apply them as such.

The BEST essential oil I’ve “found” in more than a decade. Omg was this fun to work with in CP soap! This year it’s the “Hot Cocoa” bar that will be released for Christmas, how wonderful to be able to offer an essential oil version of this!
Behaved BEAUTIFULLY in CP soap, no ricing no issues, poured perfectly. The EO is a beautiful thick dark brown liquid, no color is needed when making soap with this! Discolors to a beautiful rich dark chocolate. Scent is true to what you hope and dream for, after 8 weeks of cure time on the racks the scent remains strong and true to out of the bottle.
This will be in my line up every Christmas season!
