Tetrasodium EDTA is used to create stable water soluble personal care formulations, controlling for hardness and heavy metal ions. EDTA is the most widely used, very strong cost-effective and general purpose chelating agent. This EDTA is a highly versatile, readily biodegradable chelate.
Tetrasodium EDTA can be used in lotions, shampoos, shower gels, hand soap and more. It is used to increase product stability and effectiveness by binding the metal ions and water. This helps other ingredients, such as emulsifiers, skin soothing ingredients, and active surfactants, maintain their stability and increase effectiveness.
Tetrasodium EDTA is most effective in products with higher pH levels, such as soaps. To used Tetrasodium EDTA in your soap bars simply blend into the fats, then proceed as usual.
Tetrasodium EDTA helps to prevent color changes in your formulas. This makes Tetrasodium EDTA and ideal option for clear and translucent products.
